Didn't Jesus Say To Help Them?

66

By Maraiya Storm

Some refuse to go to God

Some cannot see there is a God

And some are falling harder and faster

And some may never know love

Or try to find it

May never know peace

Because they gave up too soon

Because they turned to temporary highs

To heal it

Someone needs to love them

Someone needs to get through to them

Someone needs to not criticize or judge them

Someone needs to feed and clothe them

Someone needs to talk to them

Someone needs to understand them

Someone needs to feel their pain

Someone needs to have compassion

That someone could be you.

Just love them

Just understand

Just be there in supportive

Gently guide them to the truth

That heals their soul.

You may be that someone

Who can lift them back up

Maybe you fell just like him

Maybe you found your way back up

Maybe you found out how to get back up

Maybe you found inner peace and joy in life

Maybe you know the answers for him

Maybe you know where he can get help

Maybe you know where he can find friends

Maybe you know of a church that won’t judge him

Maybe you know of a book that turns him around

Maybe you’ve been there and done that and turned it all around.

Maybe you are the only person in town who knows how he can turn himself and his life around.

Maybe you are his shining example of something, a new type of role model that he’s never before seen.

Maybe you are the one who can tell him about God

Maybe you can bring him to Jesus’ love and forgiveness.

Maybe you tell him what love is and how to find it.

But he hasn’t yet met you

You run away from him

You fear him

Because of how he looks and lives

And so the drugs take him deeper

And he lies to get them

And he steals to get them

And he steals to get food

And a room for the night

A continuous plight

Didn’t Jesus Say To Help them?

Amidst the dark city

Dying, slowly

No longer a someone

No longer a success expecting happiness

And with no one to help

He’s lost.

Didn’t Jesus ask us to help him? To love and help the poor and suffering?

Jesus said when you give to the least of them, you give to Jesus.

Like Jesus, do you not want to see every soul healed?

If you judge them, they cannot be healed.

They need to feel what love is, they need to see the compassion and love in your eyes and feel your loving presence with them, without judgment or fear.

Jesus loves them all, forgives them all, understands, is full of compassion, and shows them the way to peace and prosperity.

Jesus treats them all the same. Each is a potential shining heart. Each can be woken up. Each can become a blessing so that they can be a blessing to others.

We are Jesus’ helpers, bringing them to Jesus, bringing love and nonjudgment into their hearts.

Just giving them some food, a dollar for the bus, or telling them where they can get some help, that’s something, it shows you understand and care.
